KAI06 – 19991023 – KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII, USA: Belgian Luc Van Lierde celebrates as he crosses the finish line to win the men’s Ironman World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii on Saturday 23 October, 1999. Van Lierde clocked 8,17.17 hours to win the 3.9 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and the marathon of the triathlon event.
