Physician Accreditation Statement

College of Family Physicians of Canada
Members of the College of Family Physicians of Canada are eligible to receive 16.00 Certified or Non-Certified Mainpro+ credits for participation in this activity due to reciprocal agreement with the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Physicians of Osteopathy
The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ as AOA 2-B credit.

Nurse Practitioners  (AANP)
The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by ACCME. HCCME is accredited to provide CME for physicians and will provide nurse practitioners who successfully complete each activity with a certificate of participation indicating the activity was designated for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Nurse Practitioners should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

However, please be mindful that certain states have their own rules and regulations for what they find acceptable as Continuing Nursing Education Activities (CNE’s). Remember to check your state governing body to ensure that participating in CME is acceptable. State licensure and state certification are separate and distinct from registration or certification.

Clinical Nurse Specialists & Registered Nurses 
Nurses may claim credit for educational activities approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ in most states, for up to 50% of the nursing requirements for re-certification. Please check with the state association where you are licensed for more information.

American Nurses Credentialing Center
According to the ANCC, the continuing education hours approved by the AAFP meet the ANCC-accredited CNE criteria. Participants should contact the ANCC directly to determine how to report credits earned.

California Board of Registered Nursing
For the purpose of re-licensure, the California Board of Registered Nursing accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. The majority of state boards accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ as meeting continuing education requirements for license renewal. Nurses should check with their state’s Board of Registered Nursing regarding use of CME credit.

Physician Assistants 
The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.
